Giving Tuesday

THANKFUL (2).png

After a weekend… ok, let’s be honest, a full week of retail spending it’s time to share some organizations that are close to my heart.

Deciding where you donate is a personal decision. I hope everyone reading this post is able to choose an organization they find worthy and make a donation today.

I have always felt that the most deserving beings are those that can’t speak for themselves, children and animals. So this list is heavy on organizations serving those communities. I understand that may not resonate with everyone reading this post and that’s ok. From my point of view the main focus of Giving Tuesday is to reflect on what you’re thankful for (and what you might have overspent recently lol) and give back to organizations that help communities in need. If you can’t give money, give your time. If you are short on time maybe there is some area of expertise you can offer an organization; photography, copyrighting, grant writing, fund raising, social media, event planning.

I have volunteered with Angles Among Us Pet Rescue as a volunteer coordinator and with AHS as a dog walker. Routinely I donate items to FurKids thrift shop. We also donate supplies to W-Underdogs. As a middle school teacher I sponsored a pet rescue club where students raised money and heard from speakers in the pet rescue field. I listed out those examples not as accomplishments, but to remind you there are SO many ways to help outside of monetary donations. Set up your account with Amazon Smile, take surveys through Survey Monkey, or log your dog’s walks with WoofTrax.

After a year of staying home and in our echo chambers more than ever, donating and pledging your time to a deserving organization seems like the perfect way to start 2021!!

Click on an image and you will be directed to the organization’s website where you can read more about their platform and donate if you feel led to do so.

Here are links to websites I have found helpful when researching prior to donating.
